FlacSquisher is an application for Windows that performs the following task: it converts audio files from one format to another. And more to the point, the application converts FLAC files to MP3 or OGG (you get to choose the encoding format). The application is very easy to use, it does its job promptly, and using it won’t cost you a thing.
The installation file is a lightweight 2.9Mb in size. Download this file, run it, click through the setup wizard, and moments later you will be done – you will have FlacSquisher ready to be used on your Windows-powered machine.
Minimalist – that is the word I would choose to describe the application’s interface. There’s no eye candy, no unnecessary graphics; just a few buttons you can use to easily and quickly access the functionality FlacSquisher has to offer.
Speaking about functionality, the nice thing about using FlacSquisher is that it is a simple 3-step process that goes along something like this:
Step 1 – select the FLAC source directory (the folder where you have your FLAC files) and select the output directory (the folder where you want the converted files to be stored).
Step 2 – choose an encoding method. You can choose between OggEnc2 (OGG Vorbis) and Lame (Mp3).
Step 3 – launch the conversion process by clicking the Encode! Button on the left hand side. FlacSquisher will go to work and convert all the FLAC files from the source directory.
Quickly get accustomed to FlacSquisher and use it to easily convert FLAC to MP3 or OGG.
Pros
Installing FlacSquisher is a simple, effortless process. You will very quickly figure out the interface. Use the application to convert FLAC files to MP3 or OGG. FlacSquisher is a free application.
Cons
None that I could think of.
